Jude Law takes his trademark charm to rare heights even by his exacting standards in this gorgeous short from Johnnie Walker Blue Label
I think that as we sit back and consider the many roles of Jude Law, it wouldn’t be completely out of line to say that he’s one of the coolest men currently living. The pinnacle of course, being his unfathomably gorgeous and entirely magnetic Dickie Greenleaf in The Talented Mr Ripley.
As such, we’re VERY pleased that he’s bringing those vibes back with this achingly classy short film from Johnnie Walker Blue Label. He dances, he plays piano, he makes wild bets on vintage sailboats, all to impress Giancarlo Gianini, who, we might add, is sporting some of the best sunglasses we’ve seen on any man all summer.
Directed by British director Jake Scott (he directed the videos for Everybody Hurts and Disarm, if you needed any more rad 90’s music credentials) and shot in the British Virgin Islands, the film tells the story of a wager between two men striving for personal progress through the quest for a truly rare experience. Law plays the role of a man who has it all – and how do you please the man who has everything? Well, you make a wager for something that money can’t buy, obviously.
Of his role and involvement in the film, Law said: “The film is about improvement and progress and this is something I try to do in my work and my everyday life. I had to learn new skills shooting this film and that combined with the places we visited and shot in, alongside working with Jake and with Giancarlo, made it a truly rare experience.
It’s good to progress, isn’t it? It’s also quite pleasant to drink whisky, especially a rare kind. So jolly good that Johnnie Walker have got you covered. Now we just need to charm ourselves into a 1920’s Italian boat….Jude makes it look seamless. How hard can it be?
