Primark To Start Selling Online

Love it or loathe it, it’s fair to say disposible fashion store Primark has entrenched itself into the nation’s shopping habits, but one place the brand is way behind is online. They have a website which is quite well designed and informative but crucially, you can’t buy anything and you’d think they’d have bought the domain www.primark.com (which currently just gives an error page) as well as www.primark.co.uk.

Primark
With explosive expansion across our high streets, Primark¬† hasn’t really had to think about digital sales but with brands like ASOS threatening to cement their stranglehold on the online fashion market, it’s now or never. One thing that remains to be seen is how Primark are going to position themselves in the online market, budget brands may struggle as they have to sell in huge volume to make it worthwhile and the mid-level market is already pretty saturated with all the other high street brands.

I suppose a big question to ask here is why do you shop online? Is it for the ‘disposible’ style of fashion on offer at Primark or the more bespoke purchases you’ve seen in store but need to think about. Unless you just prefer to to escape the crowds? And let’s face it, going into Primark on a Saturday afternoon is like entering the 7th circle of hell, so maybe it’s a good thing after all.
