Topman’s ”What Breed Is She?” T-shirt

Guess what guys? For the mere price of £16 you can now look like a complete misogynistic twat – hurray! Topman have added this charming little number to their menswear range:

I generally dislike any t-shirt with a ‘witty’ slogan on it as I feel they (untruthfully) scream “LOOK HOW FUNNY I AM!” but this rather offensive slogan takes the biscuit. I imagine at some point in the process of bringing this to market a group of buyers sat in a room, looked at the t-shirt and said “Brilliant, hilarious! This is definitely an acceptable message to print on a T-shirt”, well maybe not that last bit but the mind still boggles.

A storm has erupted on Twitter over the t-shirt but the brand are yet to reply, what do you think? Is it just a bit of fun or have they taken it too far?

UPDATE

So, Topman have released a statement but before you can read it you’re encouraged to ‘Like’ them on Facebook, this is an absolutely ludicrous way to respond to complaints:

We have received some negative feedback regarding two of our printed T-shirts. Whilst we would like to stress that these T-shirts were meant to be light-hearted and carried no serious meaning we have made the decision to remove these from store and online as soon as possible. We would like to apologise to those who may have been offended by these designs.

The comments on the statement are 100 times worse than the T Shirt by the way so brace yourself!

UPDATE

Topman have pulled the T-shirt and will no longer be stocking them.

That is hilarious. I would buy that t-shirt in a minute.

Promotes the wrong message? What is the right message? More importantly, who are you to tell the world what can and can not be said? People buy shirts because they like them, not because people like you say they can or cannot; ironically, less people would buy them if there were fewer people telling them they can’t. You’re a jesus freak I take it. Just throwin it out there, but I’m pretty sure Jesus said who are you to judge, “he without sin cast the first stone.” You’re an absolute cunt if you think taking away a t-shirt like this does anything other than sate your desire to control, and self-justify your righteous anger about the shirt… pretty sure thats a big sin as well… righteous anger… In a world where a 10 year old can surf porn, can hear expletives on late night television, and parents feed their children pop tarts for breakfast instead of a meal and let them dress however they like when they hit puberty early because of the hormones in the artificial garbage people eat… How is that shirt offensive? If you hate that t-shirt, you should teach your children not to wear them, not try to censor something that you wont be able to… That is a true idiots way to lash out at something that tickles their delicate sensibilities.

Maybe his girlfriend is a bitch. She could be any number of breeds of dog. Have a sense of humor, and worry about REAL problems in the world.
